About this training

The purpose of this training is to provide mental health professionals,

substance use professionals and co-occurring healthcare professionals with

substance use disorder education on local trends, treatment strategies and

cultural considerations. During this training, be educated on the impact

substances and alcohol has on mental health, participants will be able to

identify risk factors and protective factors associated with substance use

disorders and cultural considerations in treatment.

About this training

Vicarious trauma is a common experience for those in the helping

profession. It can show up in our interactions with our family and children. Its impact can

also manifest in our self-talk and coping with life challenges. During this training,

participants will be able to identify vicarious trauma and how it can impact the helping

professionals. Plus, explore ways to incorporate wellness strategies to reduce the impact

of compassion fatigue.

2. Attendees will be able to identify their personal wellness and self-care needs
