Insurance and Fees

Do you take insurance?

At this time, A Solution B, LLC is a private pay counseling practice and does not accept insurance. This is so that your counseling is not limited by the diagnosis, treatment plan, or session limits that health insurance companies dictate such as limiting the number of sessions or even the type of therapy you can receive. Learn more about my approach.

Does my insurance reimburse for your services?

Yes, most insurances including Medicare reimburses for some of A Solution B’s Out-Of-Network services. Check your insurance plan to see which Out-Of-Network behavioral health/mental health services are reimbursable and the percentage you will be reimbursed. Learn more about services and fees

I want to use my insurance. What do I do?

If you desire to use your insurance, there are a number of options to address this area: 1) I am partnered with Advekit, a platform that can help you understand and use your Out-of-Network insurance benefits. If you make a free account with this service, they will link you with me and will pay me on your behalf. Advekit will only charge you the balance of what your insurance does not pay. Once you meet your deductible, you will only be charged what you owe and they wait for reimbursement instead of you having to wait. 2)Contact your insurance directly to obtain information regarding Out-of-Network behavioral health services coverage, or 3) Request a superbill, consisting of your services and a diagnosis. This can be provided to you (after payment of services)  which you can then be submitted by using the Reimbursify App on your cell phone. In addition, many insurance companies require a deductible to be met before they start reimbursing, so you may still pay out of pocket.

Payment and Rates

Can I receive an estimate of my charges?

You have a right to know how much you may potentially pay for your counseling services. The No Surprise Act, a Federal Law Passed in December 2020, provides a provision titled the Good Faith Estimate. The goal of this bill is to protect consumers from unexpected medical bills. More information may be added here.

How much do you charge for counseling?

My goal is to make counseling affordable and accessible to those in need. Depending on the type of session requested,  in regards to individual sessions my minimum rate is $65 per session and the highest rate of $140 per session (the first appointment). Counseling sessions are 30 minutes to 50 minutes to allow for time to complete notes, record keeping, and travel. Learn more about services and fees

Scheduling a session

What should I expect during the first session?

For your first appointment, called an intake appointment, is typically used to gather the requisite demographic and administrative information and determine what brought you to A Solution B, LLC. To this end, you will be asked to fill out several short forms, which I will review with you. Also, during the intake appointment, I will inquire to better understand who you are and how I can best help you. At this time, my primary job is to get information from you to help determine which best course of treatment is best suited to work with your needs.
It is common to feel a little nervous and self-conscious during your intake appointment. In fact, it may be helpful to share these feelings. Appointments can be booked online.

Scheduling an initial intake appointment?

In order to book an appointment, a credit card number is required. You will not be charged until the time of service and you are free to use another form of payment at your session.

How do I schedule a counseling appointment?

Appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis. You are welcome to use the Request Appointment button on any page to make an appointment.
