Therapists must be informed about the intersection of nutrition, mental health, and racial disparities in the Black community to provide culturally competent, holistic, and effective care. By addressing these issues, therapists can help improve the overall mental health and well-being of their BIPOC clients and work towards reducing mental health disparities in this community.

Join us on 11/13 at 5 pm EST for a discussion and presentation by Reynelda Jones, LCSW. In this training, you will be introduced to the terms food justice and food insecurity. Research shows a significant link between brain health and nutrition. However, food insecurity and food injustice are barriers to whole-body wellness and nutritional lifestyles that may be beneficial in Black communities.

Attendees will learn to identify food injustice, and the negative implications it plays in Black communities, as well as, explore how to connect with communities to advocate for adequate nutrition and relieve mental health symptoms.
